Sentinel IPSTM BLASTS 'Blaster'!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 14, 2003

Dallas, Texas - Tens of thousands of companies, government departments and home computer users across North America, Europe and Asia were hit this week by the internet worm which uses the names "LovSan", "MSBlast" and "Blaster."

Worms are self-propagating malicious codes that do not require the computer user to take any action; by contrast, a computer virus usually is activated when a computer user clicks on to an e-mail attachment.

All Sentinel protected networks were kept safe from this malicious exploit. The device protects networks from close to 4,000 types of exploits and includes Sentinel Premium Service at no additional charge. All Sentinel IPS Applicances are monitored, upgraded, and updated automatically to protect against new threats. EcoNet.com, Inc. manufactures the Sentinel Intrusion Prevention System.

Utilizing "Network Cloaking"TM technology makes private networks invisible to malicious IPs. Hackers and other malicious users are unable to communicate with the cloaked network, while normal network traffic remains unaffected.
