Sentinel IPS Intrustion Prevention

How It Works

Sentinel IPS is the only Intrusion Prevention System
to utilize Network Cloaking.

Did you know that your firewall probably has a hole in it?
To allow communication with outside users, ports must be opened on your firewall. Hackers and malicious traffic are free to go in and out of the holes created by these open ports without being challenged.

Why a firewall and IDS are not enough.

In addition to the holes created by open ports on your firewall, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are ineffective at stopping hackers and malicious traffic in real-time.

IDS solutions may record the attempts made against your network, but they provide no response other than to page the network administrator. Most users of IDS systems spend significant time responding to false-positive alerts, and an IDS can only record the event - It cannot prevent the attack.

Network Cloaking: How It Works.

The Sentinel IPS inspects all Internet traffic entering your network for malicious code, prohibited behaviors, malformed packets, and hack attempts. Sentinel IPS will immediately drop all packets from an offending IP Address, including the initial request packets.

To the perpetrator, your Internet Gateway IP address will simply appear to be unused... This is what we call Network Cloaking.

FAQs

What is Network Cloaking?

It's our technology that prevents network intrusions by making protected networks invisible to malicious external users, while allowing valid traffic to pass freely.
